e+CancerCare leadership includes both our management team and our board of directors. Comprised of highly experienced healthcare executives, our management team has a clear grasp of the outpatient cancer care industry gleaned from 60+ years of combined industry experience.
Charles N. Martin, Jr., Chairman of the Board
Charlie currently serves as the Chairman and CEO of Vanguard Health Systems, Inc. and is the former Chairman, President, and CEO of OrNda HealthCorp. Under his leadership, OrNda’s revenues grew from approximately $450 million to $3 billion in four years to become the nation’s third-largest investor-owned hospital management company. He currently sits on the board of Rand Corporation, a nonprofit institution that addresses the challenges facing public and private sectors around the world. His career includes serving as Director, President, and CEO of Healthtrust, Inc., as well as Director and Executive VP of HCA Inc.
Timothy M. Petrikin, Chief Executive Officer and Director
Tim co-founded e+CancerCare in 2002 with one
goal in mind: to develop and operate a best-in-class network
of integrated, outpatient cancer care centers backed by
a customer service culture reflective of the hospitality
industry. Prior to founding e+CancerCare in 2002, Tim
was the VP of Development for Ambulatory Resource Centres
(ARC), a venture capital-backed, ambulatory surgery center
company. He was involved from ARC’s inception in
1997 through its expansion to 38 centers and approximately $150
million in revenue. ARC merged with Symbion, Inc. (Nasdaq:
SMBI), a multi-specialty outpatient surgery center company,
in July 1999. Prior to that, he developed ambulatory surgery
and diagnostic imaging joint ventures for OrNda, a publicly
traded hospital management company acquired by Tenet Healthcare
in January 1997. While at OrNda and Symbion, Tim worked
extensively on establishing physician joint ventures. Tim
is a graduate of Oklahoma State University.
Amy Radcliff, President and Chief Operating Officer
Amy is responsible for the ongoing growth of current PET/CT centers, the management of key relationships with hospitals and physician groups, and continued business development of e+CancerCare’s new opportunities in radiation therapy and integrated cancer care centers. With more than 18 years of sales and sales management experience, Amy has developed and managed regional and national sales teams focused on organic growth of new technologies. Previously, Amy was district sales manager for Cable and Wireless PLC, a global Internet provider, where she developed a sales team dedicated to the sales of complex data and Internet solutions for Fortune 500 companies. Additionally, she spent 11 years developing a national accounts program for CUE Paging. After its acquisition, she managed the division for Satellink Communications. Amy is a graduate of the University of Missouri.
Robert B. Rhymer, Chief Clinical Operations Officer
Robbie is responsible for managing e+CancerCare’s diagnostics centers
operations. His healthcare industry experience includes more than 22 years
in both clinical and management roles. Previously, Robbie was regional VP of
Symbion, where he managed the Southeastern regional market and was instrumental
in the incremental growth of multiple surgery centers. He was also responsible
for maintaining quality of service and applying cost-effective methods to operations.
Early in his career, he held various positions at both Tenet Healthcare and
HCA, supervising departmental clinical operations and assessing and evaluating
improvements in patient care. Robbie graduated with an A.D. from Gardner Webb
University, a B.S.N. from Lenior-Rhyne College, and an M.S.N. from Duke University.
Lang Aston, Chief Financial Officer
Lang’s primary responsibilities are centered around raising capital and mergers and acquisitions. Before joining e+CancerCare, Lang was Managing Director and Head of Healthcare Investment Banking at Stephens Inc., an investment banking firm. While at Stephens, Lang served as the financial advisor for e+CancerCare. Lang has seventeen years of experience as an investment banker in the healthcare services sector, advising and facilitating more than 50 capital raises and strategic transactions. His career includes investment banking positions at Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns, and Citicorp. Lang graduated from Duke University with a double major in civil engineering and economics. He also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
Bob Kinard, Chief Administrative Officer
Bob is responsible for managing the centralized business services and internal operations of the company. Prior to joining e+CancerCare, he was the Vice President and CFO of ConnectivHealth, a web-based platform company for health education and medical information. Previously, Bob served as Chief Corporate Development Officer with Passport Health Communications, a healthcare IT services company. Earlier in his career, Bob served as a Director in the Health Ventures practice of KPMG Peat Marwick LLP. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Florida State University and an MBA from the University of Alabama.

Our management team is supported by an equally experienced board of directors, whose professional expertise includes senior management positions with public and private healthcare entities and management of private equity and venture capital investments.
Randall J. Bufford, Founder, President, and CEO, Trilogy Health Services
Randy has served as President/CEO of Trilogy Health Services since he founded the company in 1997. Prior to Trilogy, Randy served as the Executive Vice President
– Business Development for Centennial HealthCare Corporation. Before joining Centennial, he was the President/CEO of Transitional Health Services of Louisville, Kentucky. Randy held various positions with The Cardinal Group including CFO, held other positions with an HMO, and started his career as an auditor with Arthur Young & Company, CPAs. Randy is a 1981 graduate of the University of Louisville with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Jeremy H. Silverman, Managing Director, Frontenac
Jeremy is Managing Director of Frontenac, a private equity firm based in Chicago and a major investor in e+CancerCare. Jeremy focuses on healthcare services and other business services investments. He came to Frontenac in 1995 from WellPoint, Inc. and previously spent 12 years as a consultant with Bain & Company. He graduated from Cambridge University with first-class honours and received a Master’s degree with distinction from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
Paul D. Carbery, Managing Director, Frontenac
Paul focuses on companies in healthcare and distribution services. He also has considerable experience in technology services. He came to Frontenac in 1989 from Strategic Planning Associates, a management consulting firm. He is an honors graduate of Yale College and received a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Stanford University. |
